Quebec does not fund English-language institutions, so Alberta should not fund French-language postsecondary programs. <\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Quebec funds nine English-language postsecondary institutions, three of which are universities. These institutions receive funding from Quebec\u2019s provincial government.<\/h4>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]There are three English-language universities in Quebec: Bishop\u2019s, Concordia and McGill. The two latter institutions are world-renowned. There are also six English-language colleges: John Abbott, Dawson, Vanier, Champlain Regional, Heritage et Marianopolis. In addition to these English-language institutions, there are eight institutions where programs in English and French are both offered.<\/p>\n

When we examine the provincial funding received by the three English-language universities in 2019, it represents one-third of McGill University\u2019s budget, 52% of Concordia University\u2019s operating budget, and 44% of Bishop\u2019s University\u2019s revenues.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Quebec continues to invest in infrastructure upgrades for its English-language postsecondary institutions. For example, in the summer of 2020, the provincial government proposed to allocate funding towards an infrastructure expansion project at Dawson College in Montreal.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Sources :<\/p>\n
